Welcome

The goal of our Living Lab is to partner with older adults in the place where they live. We are seeking to develop, test, and create innovative and meaningful research on healthy aging and successful aging in older adults. As part of this Living Lab, we host a studio apartment on the 6th floor which includes a central testing area, large bathroom, and a small kitchenette. All within 420 square feet of space, we provide researchers with an opportunity to collaborate one-on-one with residents and conduct novel research on-site. This lab space can be reserved by UC San Diego researchers to study topics related to biosensors, innovative technology testing, conducting physical assessments, and the ability to utilize the space for meetings and participant interviews, etc.

Researchers will be able to work with residents who are in different levels of care within the community, including independent living, assisted living, or memory care. In addition to the studio apartment, researchers can sign up for access to a number of elegant spaces within the community, including a gym, art studio, social lounge, multi-purpose room, screening room, and a Town Hall.
